Stop The Ugliness

Today I want to talk about something that has bothered me for a while now. You have all heard me gripe about reality T.V. well there is another subject that is really getting to me, Child Beauty Pageants.

I am sure everyone saw the recent video of the mother giving her child Botox injections and the video about the mother who dressed her child like the lovable hooker from “Pretty Woman”. I have to ask, am I the only one who is appalled by this? So now we are dressing our little girls like prostitutes just to win a beauty pageant? When are we going to get a grip on our society and put an end to this craziness?  Is it going to be when the little girl propositions someone as part of the talent competition? This behavior is unacceptable and we all know it; if we are going to have child beauty pageants then they should be judged as children not children who look like adults; certainly not children who dress like prostitutes. You all know I am far from being called a prude but this is ridiculous. What are these moms thinking? Is this what they dream of for their children; that they be judged the best looking prostitute? A five year old girl should not even know what a prostitute is let alone dress like one. Come on people we are supposed to be at the top of the food chain. What next is her mom going to take her on the Maury Povich show; I was a kindergarten hooker? As a side note the mother of the little version of pretty woman said in retrospect it was a bad idea and next time she will dress her daughter like an Angel. I am guessing Victoria Secret Angel? I hope you’re all picking up on the sarcasm because I am laying it on very thick. Someone get this mom some parenting classes for Christmas. (I am not kidding about that.) Please help your old pal Willy Nilly and sit down and write a letter to your lawmakers and have these ridiculous competitions stopped for our children’s sake. You and I did not risk our lives in Iraq and Afghanistan to give these parents the right to abuse their children this way. YES to me it IS child abuse.

What could the possible fascination be? You want to have a party and be able to say to your friends “Yup you know Whitey Bulger lived here.” Wow! You must be proud. Or is that you are hoping to find some of the money he stashed there; well wake up they have money sniffing dogs cameras, and sledge hammers, they will find it all. Listen up all you dyslexic buffoons you are doing it wrong. We are not supposed to honor criminals and bad behavior; we are supposed to punish it. We are supposed to punish it harshly with extreme prejudice. It’s ok to be prejudiced against crime because crime is WRONG!

Whatever happened to rewarding good behavior? When did it become wrong for us to tell someone to pick up their trash and throw it in the TRASH can? I’ll tell you when, it happened, when we stopped making it unpleasant to do the wrong thing, and began compromising our principles and then we started making it profitable. I know what you’re thinking (he is going to bring up Reality T.V. again.) Well you are partially right. It did start with the media; the media turns these criminals into celebrities, and if that’s not enough we turn our celebrities into criminals. What’s the statement I am searching for? “There is no such thing as bad publicity.” Oh and this one. “Everyone is famous for fifteen minutes.” Thanks a lot Andy. Thanks to today’s technology some undeserving people are famous for a lot longer than their allotted fifteen minutes. Look at Casey Anthony, she murdered her child (Yeah I know she was acquitted but we all know she did it.) Disclaimer time again. I as in ME, I believe she did it and that is my opinion and I am quite sure after 20 years of service to this country I am entitled to it. She will be released later this month to book offers and interview offers and since she was acquitted she can profit from her story. So the way is paved and believe me people will pay for it. I am here to ask you as a fellow human being who cares about how our society is deteriorating, please; for the sake of our society do not buy into it literally do not buy the book, do not watch the interviews make the networks and publishers pay. Hit them where it counts in their pocketbook’s that is how we get them to listen to us.

WE have the ability to do this; it will take a little effort but we can. There is much better television out there, trust me and there are way better books to read, millions of them! I have a new show for you to watch ABC’s “What Would You Do?” here is a show to make you think about what is right and what is wrong. Watch the show, learn, and get involved. If you see something wrong intervene there are ways to do it properly and they will tell you. Stop turning a blind eye and make a difference before it is too late.

Where Has All the Creativity Gone?

Okay so the networks have decided we are morons who want to watch shows about know -nothing housewives who are in “reality”; just a bunch of crazy women we wouldn’t give the time of day to otherwise. Look if her brain dead husband doesn’t even want to listen to her gripe about her friends why should I?

I’ll tell you why; because when you see these nobodies on television doing and saying all these stupid things, then you feel better about yourself don’t you? This is what it’s come to then; well if they are going to offer themselves up to be made fun of then I am going to oblige them.

So many reality shows, so little time.

Where do I start? Who am I kidding? I know where to start, with the group containing the most amount of human tissue and the least amount of grey matter, yes you guessed right, Jerseylicious.

Who in the world decided that we want to watch a show about a bunch of crazy chicks who do not know how to dress or put on makeup, yet work in a “Beauty” salon? Holy crap people; if I had to spend five minutes in a room with these... Uhhhh, (I don’t even know what I can call them without using a whole lot of special characters on my keyboard, I mean I only have so many after all) I would probably commit Hara-kiri with a spoon so it would hurt more. (Just a side note Hara-kiri is the normally spoken term for Seppuku, which is the Japanese ritual of suicide by disembowelment. I used it as it is the most familiar term to most people. See what you can learn by reading.)

Anyway back to the subject. Who else but their Jersey counterparts would put up with their crap? To be quite honest I’m not even sure they like them. I mean why would they? They have nothing to offer by way of meaningful conversation all they do is pick on each other. Don’t even get me started on Tracey and Olivia. If these two worked in a “real” salon they would have been fired long ago.

I am not unrealistic I know coworkers will have problems; I have been working my entire adult life. But let me tell you if I had been a part of something half as ridiculous as these girls (hey I’m twice their age I can call them girls) get into right in front of the clientele; I would have been fired in a New York minute. Pardon the pun; it’s what I do. I’m “like” a pun master. Yes I misused the word “like”. If you have watched the show for more than a minute you know what that is about. I just watched a video clip of Olivia Blois Sharpe (I know what you’re thinking, me too but I’m not going to go there) at www.writeonnewjersey.com it was her video biography, it was two minutes long and she used the word “like” like 19 times. I did it again, sorry.

Where does it end?

Ok when are we gonna say enough is enough? Have we really gone as far as we can go creatively? All signs seem to point to this. The film industry has remade virtually every cartoon show with live characters or CGI or Computer Generated Images( I know you knew what it meant but just in case the Jerseylicious girls happen to read this)sometimes both. Case in point The Flintstones, The Chipmunks, Yogi Bear just to name a few ( I was going to say Transformers but I really liked those movies) G.I. Joe; yes we’ll use that one instead. They have started remaking old movies at an alarming rate; True Grit, the Mechanic (are you sensing the pattern?) it just kind of creeps up on you like that vine that took over the concrete wall in your back yard. Ok it’s my back yard but the fact is if I’d nipped it in the bud, literally I would only have had to cut a couple of branches every month or so. Now we have a new reality television show every month; the newest being Nail Files. Nail Files, really?

If we do not start reading more we will make the movie Idiocracy the most prophetic movie of our time; and you know what that means. Oww My Balls will be the number one television show.

Still here

      Well it has been a while I have been pretty busy since I got back form Afghanistan, however I have decided to dust off my blogging keyboard and start speaking my mind again. I know there are a lot of you out there just as fed up with "Reality" television as me so I am working on a post about that. I also never really got the word out about the blog much either so consequently there weren't many comments or responses. Well I hope that changes real soon. For now I hope you all have a great 4th of July stay safe and don't forget all our service members who are in harms way right now. Talk to you soon.

WTF???

Ok it is getting near the end of my deployment and my patience for absolute stupidity is wearing very thin. I saw this on yahoo news today.


WASHINGTON -- A recent U.S. intelligence assessment has raised the estimated number of full-time Taliban -led insurgents fighting in Afghanistan to at least 25,000, underscoring how the crisis has worsened even as the U.S. and its allies have beefed up their military forces, a U.S. official said Thursday.

The hook line was. Taliban Strength Nearing Military Proportions.

What the HELL are you people thinking? Of course this paragraph was followed by this statement.

The U.S. official, who requested anonymity because the assessment is classified, said the estimate represented an increase of at least 5,000 fighters, or 25 percent, over what an estimate found last year.

The U.S. Official requested anonymity because the DUMBASS knows he is supposed to keep his damn mouth shut. Two words people OPERATIONAL SECURITY. There is a reason this information is classified people. It’s supposed to be a GOD DAMN SECRET!!! Why don’t we just invite the Taliban to our War rooms and tell them exactly every F@#&ING thing we are doing? All of you morons who work for the upper echelons of our government and I am speaking only to those who will not give their names you know who the hell you are. You are undermining everything we are doing and you are costing American lives. I don’t care about the public’s right to know. Their right to know ends where the soldier’s right to protection for what they are doing begins. We need to go back to the old days when people had a little more Honor and Respect.

We are told constantly about operational security and to be careful when using the computers here, but U.S. officials don’t have to? If you leak CLASSIFIED information there is a word for that it is called TREASON. We used to kill people for that. These animals in the Taliban have one thing going for them; they know us psychologically better than anything. They know how we think and feel and that is their greatest weapon. They know our fears, HELLO that’s why it’s called TERRORISM. That’s why it works.

We need to find every single one of these TRAITORS and put them in jail for the rest of their lives, since we can’t kill them anymore, because that would make us just like the terrorists. ( Hope you are picking up on the SARCASM because I am laying it on thick.) If you cost an American life because of your treasonous behavior you should pay for it with your life.

If we are not going to commit to this thing then perhaps we do need to just pack up go home and protect our own borders. We are here for a reason. People are griping about the President, well what can you do if your own employees won't keep their stupid mouths shut. I am amazed that anyone wants to be president it is such a thankless job. Perhaps for now we should redirect our anger away from the president and start finding these traitorous pigs and throw them away. They are the ones killing your troops. I am sick of seeing this crap in the news.

Our officials seeking anonymity should take a lesson from these heroes. This was also in the news today. We lost another great American.

Willard Varnell Oliver a grateful nation mourns your passing.

PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Willard Varnell Oliver, a member of the Navajo Code Talkers who confounded the Japanese during World War II by transmitting messages in their native language, died Wednesday. He was 88.

Lawrence Oliver said his father died at the Northern Arizona Veterans Administration Health Care System Hospital in Prescott, Ariz. He had been declining health for the past two years.

Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. ordered flags on the Navajo Nation to be flown at half-staff from Oct. 15-19 in honor of Oliver, who is at least the fifth Code Talker to die since May.

Oliver was part of an elite group of Navajo Marines who confused the Japanese during World War II by transmitting messages in Navajo.

The Code Talkers took part in every assault the Marines conducted in the Pacific from 1942 to 1945. Their work was declassified in 1968.

Oliver, who grew up between Shiprock and Farmington, N.M., served in the South Pacific with the 2nd Marine Division from 1943 to 1945. He was wounded during the battle of Saipan of 1944.

Oliver's brother, Lloyd Oliver, was also a member of the elite group.

His funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday in his hometown of Lukachukai.

Problems With Internet

Ok so I launch my blog and all of a sudden the internet starts acting up. You know you would think if you’re going to provide internet and you know you are going to have a lot of people using it you would at least beef it up to handle the traffic. I mean come on it’s not like we can go where ever we want anyway with all the restricted websites. After all we don't want to offend our host country, you know the one that houses all the people who want to kill us, well in addition to the slow connection I am unable to get to many news sites I'm assuming because they have information on them. ( Yikes! I really laid the sarcasm thick on that one.) Here is just one of the sites I cannot access IMDB The Internet Movie Data Base. Don't want the soldiers getting too much info on movies now do we. ( Sorry sarcasm is my second language)


Well this has seriously slowed down my blogging debut. I promise I will find a way to work around it. Take this particular blog. I tried to log onto the site to let everyone know I was having trouble and while I was able to log in when I tried to get to the new post section and it wouldn’t go. So I am writing this on microsoft word so I can just paste it in. That is when I am able to log on. I guess at least since I haven’t developed a big following yet that it should not have a huge impact. I am working on a couple of different topics. I am hoping things will pick up soon, so bear with me. Take care all and be good to each other.

Iran

I decided to start off with a bang. (Pardon the pun. It’s what I do.) Now exactly who among us thinks that Iran should be allowed to have nuclear weapon capabilities? I’m sorry but if in the past you have expressed a very real unreasonable desire to have an entire group of people removed from the planet, then you do not get to have nuclear weapons. Why? Because nuclear weapons have the capability of removing, entire groups of people from the planet. This is not rocket science folks(oops I did it again). It’s just common sense. We don’t allow crazy people to own guns, because mentally unstable people, with no real grasp of reality might just kill someone. The ones that are crafty enough to get guns do it all the time.


It’s the same principle. Raise your hand if you think the president of Iran Mahmoud Achmed/jihadi/wants us dead , is a sane person. The reason I said raise your hand is because I don’t need to see that you didn’t raise your hand. If you did you are just as crazy as he is.

The worst part is they think we are stupid. They claim they are only developing nuclear technology for power usage. Give me a break. POWER is right, but not power to make life better for their people. If they really cared about their people, they would not shoot them in the streets just because they disagreed with them and want change. Ok for those who will argue that we have not always been model citizens in the world. You are correct we have not. We however have grown and evolved we are not perfect but how many other countries in the world have so many people flocking to it. If we are so bad why does everyone want to come here?

So if it is so easy to see that this country is run by crazy religious zealots who really would like to see us all dead. Why is it so hard to tell them? “I’m sorry but you see you are crazy and when you run around calling for everyone else’s death we just can’t let you have these kinds of weapons.” We don’t need to be diplomatic we need to be honest. We are not going to accomplish anything by ignoring the elephant in the room. Diplomacy is reserved for non crazy heads of state that can be reasoned with. Not for maniacs who believe it is perfectly ok to wipe someone out just because you don’t like them. Let’s not forget that this man claims the Holocaust was a myth. One of the most documented crimes in history a myth? The Germans have admitted their guilt we had thousands of survivors. Our own troops freed many of the survivors. A MYTH?? I don’t think so Achmed wanna nuke us all. There is one thing we can count on in all this craziness. Once this nuclear site they are working on gets close enough to completion it will be destroyed, by the only people with the balls to do it and the guts to stand up and take the credit and the inevitable heat that will come their way, the Isrealis. I hope when they do we will be along side them but I doubt that we will be. The world better wake the hell up and let these crazy people know we are not going to stand for this.
